handlebar wiring

Post by Texaspan »

Hello Fellow Panhead freaks,
Searched the knowledge base and did not find an answer.
64 Duoglide - was the wiring for the horn and headlight dimmer inside the left handlebar encased in individual unit asphalt loom or were the wires just run with the cloth insulation?

Thank you!

Cloth insulation, the loom began at the outlet of the bars. There was a lot of stuff going on in there with control cables and multiple switches.

Thanks Rubone,
That's what I was hoping to hear. Way too crowded in there for loom inside the bar.

Back to work,
Doc

Main reason I asked about this is because the old wiring I pulled out had the asphalt loom inside the bars!
Didn't make sense. It was dry and fell apart.
