Cotten!

Received the Durable float today and it's really nice. And light! Hopefully I can get it swapped out and some miles in before I leave next week......

Please take your time Mr. B!

Only an average over many many miles and many gallons of gas will be meaningful.

How long did it take you to arrive at the enviable 34mpg estimate?
It will not hurt to confirm it with more miles before the switch.

Just wondering, Has any more research been done on the model that you have built, for a control?-Did we ever find a control?--Was Gasoline tried in the experiment-(outdoors ofcoarse)?---Or is it just at a standstill at the moment?--Just curious!---RICHIE :?: 8)

Is Cotten still here? He sent me a float to try and record my mileage but work has gotten in the way. Most of this year has been slow as crap but I've gone from sittin' home watchin' Judge Judy to leaving the house at 7 with actual jobs to go do.

For sure this weekend I'll drop it in and report my findings to.........?

Cotten!

Finally got around to installing the Durable float you sent me and now it looks like I have an intake leak on the front cylinder. I'll get it fixed and hopefully get you some mileage figures shortly and thanks again for the float. Looks very nice.....

Dang, thanks for the reminder. My last tank with the Durable float was 37.6 and the tank before that was 33.2.

Weather should be nice this weekend so I'll try to burn through another one and see what the average is.....

Cotton!

My sincere apology but I did keep up with the mileage and even reinstalled the Starklite awhile back for comparison and I have been remiss in reporting. Unfortunately my notepad was tossed out accidently and I have no exact figures to post. From memory though, on my 52FL, the numbers for both floats stayed in the range of 32 to 38 so my barely scientific spreadsheet revealed basically no difference between the two.

I would though like to pay you for the float and purchase another. I shall email you and request your address to send forth the funds........

Cotton.

For your record- Just put 6 litres in for 50 miles. Running your float- 3/4 at highway speed 65-70 mph rest in 35 mph traffic.

Bike mainly std 63 this includes FLH geared and cam.
