Can some one please tell me how important are cylinder head date codes in regards to resale of other wise correct bike for its year.
Thanks Bill

I think if you're standing there looking at an original-paint, all original and together, pristine specimen of a motorcycle, then the date codes of all the components becomes important. Certainly you wouldn't want heads with an earlier date code, but if they were just a few years later than the VIN, it would be feasible that they were replaced at some point in their life. But that can be murky water, too.....

As the motorcycle becomes less and less original, then the importance of the date code becomes less and less. If that makes sense.

Just my opinion, and I've never been very 'market oriented'. Personally, I would run what's in the best shape while I search for the correct date coded heads. It could be a long search.

If you are referring to your 1960, no one would know but you, they are not visible with the bike together!
